Identity for Zero Carbon City, a British Council climate change awareness initiative.

While working on this identity, I wanted to incorporate some of those robust, direct qualities of agit-prop graphics to promote a sense of urgency. The Block Berthold font with its solid look worked well in this respect.

Its rough-hewn edges inspired the coarse-textured background panels, employed to add a framework reminiscent of a sparse, unspoiled landscape.

I think I got a bit too florid with that last sentence, that’s the kind of verbose prose I write in proposal documents. Nice simple logo though, I’m happy with that.
