25 years adrift in the creative industry.

I am Adrian Talbot, longstanding Design Director at creative studio Intro. I’m also a type designer selling my wares at Talbot Type; and a photographer, showing my images at Talbot Gallery. T3 is where I post updates of my attempts to stay afloat creatively

We’ve been for
some Councilling
23 May 2006

Redesign of the Crafts Council identity and all of their printed materials.

We’ve updated the C symbol, replacing the difficult to print, fine serifs of the original with a more modern, hand drawn sans.

The logo at top right is our updated outcome. Because the type sits on a radius, it was all custom drawn. The horizontal strokes of each of the letters are all concentric curves that correspond to the radius of the curves in the C symbol.

For the updated covers, the location of all elements on the page is governed by the position of the logo top left, acting as a kind of sun around which everything orbits.

Through everything, we’ve been promoting the widespread use of images of craft makers at work, to enable the reader to better understand their impressive talents and achievements.
